About Virtual Cemeteries Genealogy: A New Way to Find Your Family
Please sign in to see more.
Welcome to VIRTUAL CEMETERIES ONLINE, starting with Knox County, IL. The idea to
delineate as many of the headstones I am taking a picture of and to get as much
information about these individuals to you as possible.

These individuals will be of many races. It makes no difference to me if they are black or white or polka dot. I will note the race and go on from there. This to help others with the hard to find relatives.
There will be those with no information except birth and death dates but make no mistake, I am not through with them. I am continually digging through census for even the ones that I cannot currently find.

All of the current entries with photos are from East Linwood Cemetery in Galesburg, Knox County, IL, with the exception of Eugene Allen Briggs, Marian Briggs and Rodney Thompson that is. Those three are in Memorial Park Cemetery, Knox Co., IL.
My first entry was Leon L. Moser who was born in Germany, emmigrated to the United States in 1883 and settled in Knox County, IL. He was prosperous enough to actually have a maid and hired man to help him.
FEEL FREE TO USE THE PHOTOS AT THIS SITE IF YOU NEED THEM. I WOULD ALSO BE GLAD THOUGH IF YOU EMAIL ME WHEN YOU DO AS I LIKE TO KNOW WHO IS POSSIBLY RELATED TO THESE PEOPLE. BUT, YES, THE PHOTOS ARE FREE TO USE.
I WOULD LIKE FOR THOSE WHO HAVE MORE INFORMATION ON ANY OF THE INDIVIDUALS CONTAINED WITHIN THIS SITE TO EITHER ADD IT TO THE GUEST BOOK OR TO EMAIL IT TO ME AT totallymine2004@yahoo.com. Sometimes all it takes is an additional name to add hundreds of people.
And I am going to link other sites to expand this idea. If anyone wants to do this with their cities etc, I would be glad to help with research so they can. I have East Linwood, Memorial Park, Linwood, Hope Cemetery and about 5 others around here with lots of genealogical information for those who are searching. You never know. Your relatives may be buried in this region.

For your convenience I am also starting sites with each cemetery listed. Click here for East Linwood. Unlike this site you are at these other sites will only list the people who are buried in them. No relatives. If you need further family you will have to come to this site. Which will feature those I can find some information on within Knox County. Most, if not all of the sites, will feature photos you can make use of. Memorial Park Cemetery will be listed within this site. Coming next after these will be Linwood, Hope Cemetery and other cemeteries within the Knox County area.

Please email me corrections or add it to the GuestBook. I try to get everything as accurate as possible but I'm not perfect. But I do wish to provide accurate information so don't hesitate to let me know when I have erred.

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
